Hideki Matsui And Angels To Attempt Guinness World Record

The Angels Will Aattempt to break the Guinness World Record On Tuesday April 6, 2010 the "largest gathering of people wearing fleece blankets." All fans in attendance at the Angels vs. Minnesota Twins game will receive a complimentary Hideki Matsui Blankie courtesy of Konica Minolta.


This is the first Guinness World Record attempted by the Angels. The current record for the largest gathering of people wearing fleece blankets is by the Cleveland Cavaliers on March 5, 2010.


Matsui did not miss a game in his first three seasons with the Yankees Matsui holds the record for longest streak of consecutive games played to start a Major League Baseball career.

Matsui did not have any balls hit his way and was removed for a pinch runner in the fifth inning after going 1 for 2.

Jeff Mathis homered and drove in three runs for the Angels. Joe Saunders gave up two runs and four hits in five innings.

This world record will be a unique and memorable experience for our fans, the first in 2010."
