There is a danger of taking too much away from this game. After all they do not play a lick of defense and a pass first point guard like Marshall will end up looking very good in the open game. There is so much consensus on Barnes at this point, chances are we will see a solid game from him. Bullock is the real wild card in terms of how he plays in this type of game. Nevertheless it should be fun to watch these future Tar Heels.
Columbus, Ohio – The West squad led by MVP Harrison Barnes 18 points was able to edge the East for a 107-104 victory on a last second Brandon Knight three-pointer to claim the 2010 McDonald’s All-American game. Knight, the Gatorade Player of the Year, was off most of the night before hitting the clutch shot in the closing seconds. East MVP Jared Sullinger had a great night with 22 points to lead all scorers as he impressed the hometown crowd in Value City Arena, which will be his home court next year when he suits up for the Buckeyes.
Reggie Bullock and Kendall Marshall on the East Team. Harrison Barnes playing for the West. OAK BROOK, Ill., Feb 11, 2010 PRNewswire via COMTEX McDonald's(R) All American Basketball Games selection committee announced final rosters today for the 33rd annual Boys Game and ninth Girls Game on the ESPNU McDonald's All American Selection Show.
The 2010 McDonald's All American Boys Team features the nation's best high school basketball talent, including Harrison Barnes Ames High School - Ames, Iowa, the top-ranked player in the ESPNU 100. Like most all-star games it was sloppy at times as players tended to be unselfish to a fault but Barnes, Sullinger and Irving introduced themselves to the country with excellent performances. Overall it was a good week to see the top high school players in the country face each other. The following are my thoughts from the week.
